Custom controller makers
Since I started making my own custom controllers, many people have asked me to build them a controller of their own design. While I have acquired the skills necessary to put together a great instrument, I’ve got enough projects on my own drawing board to keep me busy for at least another decade! Thankfully there are now plenty of controller builders ready to help realize your vision for a custom instrument…
60 Works is a new controller shop run by the gentleman who personally showed me the ropes for building controllers many years ago. David Cross is one of the names proudly signed on the bottom of Mojo #zero!
Starr Labs is known mainly for their guitar-shaped controllers, offering high-end solutions in their custom shop. Harvey Starr has been in the game for far longer than these other builders and knows wasup.
Custom MIDI Controllers.com was founded by performing controllerist Mad Zach. This man has played all over the Bay Area and Austin and understands controllerism from the perspective of the stage and the workshop.
DJ Tech Tools offers customizations to their MIDI-Fighter controller, allowing you to supplement their 16 arcade-button controller with extra knobs, faders and buttons. Ean Golden has been THE major force in bringing controllerism to popular DJ culture.
Livid Instruments doesn’t publicly advertise their custom services, but the guys at their shop in Austin can build just about anything if you can convince them. They helped me make parts for The Mojo and we are currently collaborating on some new top secret multi-player madness.
