Meet the Team
Hailing from all corners of the world, all members of our eclectic team of controller wizards have one thing in common: an obsession with sound and technology. Meet the driving force that makes Controllerism.com happen:
MGMT
Moldover - founder
If technology and music are your life, brace yourself- Moldover is about to reformat your soul. Hailed by 700,000 YouTube viewers as “The Godfather of Controllerism”, Moldover is a new breed of music icon. Combining the charisma of a rock star, the mad genius of a basement inventor and the radical inclusiveness of the DIY internet generation, Moldover is “literally throwing away the rule book and reinventing the wheel” (Remix Magazine).
Witness his balls-to-the-wall live show at a club, experience his multiplayer music installations at a festival or pick up and play the light theremin packaging of his debut album and understand why the next paradigm for music is a one-man-brand called Moldover.
Bandesnaci - editor
Coming from a background of playing in metal bands and the like, Vladimir Coman-Popescu a.k.a. Bandesnaci is a multi-instrumentalist who has been studying music since the age of eight.
He’s constantly looking for new ways to enrich and diversify his music, which is the reason he took up controllerism in the first place. Hailing from Derby, UK, Bandesnaci is usually turning heads with his spontaneous outdoor and indoor live performances, producing addictive tracks or making videos about creating and performing electronic music.
Bandesnaci loves buttons, knobs, sound design and long walks on the beach.
CONTRIBUTORS
Music gear hoarder and multi-instrumentalist Sunny Haair stumbled upon controllerism when recording and laying down ideas for a band, and it was his love of music technology and desire to leave behind the frustrations of forming bands that made him decide to pursue it. When he’s not working as a session drummer or playing guitar, Sunny loves digging through music info and writing about it.
He’s also currently getting material together and laying the foundations for his own multigenre controllerism project.
Julie Covello aka DJ Shakey is part of New York City’s Dj elite and has spun at virtually every metro area nightclub that contributes to the culture. She created and currently directs Shakey’s Record Fair, the clothing swap Thrift On! and the Warper Party (NY’s largest monthly electronic music showcase). Shakey has been rated one of the best wedding Djs in the country and one of the top 15 event Djs in New York.
Shakey performs with her bass and laptop duo FreebassBK and produces and co-hosts the weekly Warper Party Radio Extravaganza on ArtonAir.org.
