• Touch screens that touch back

By now, most of the world’s tech-aware public has learned first hand that touch screens are a great interface for many computer-related tasks, but certainly not for everything. Entering text, playing action-oriented video games and, of course, making music are all activities that benefit greatly from the tactile feedback provided by simple things like buttons. Thus it comes as no surprise that big businesses are scrambling to bridge the gap between the fluidity of a touchscreen and the familiarity of tactile interfaces. Here’s a few videos showing potential steps forward for the touch screen:

Buttons will magically pop out at you!

An electro-static field will dynamically change the texture of your screen!

The entire screen will move in response to your touch!
