• Bandesnaci – “Sleeping Skies, Wandering Planets” album launch

Whether you know him as a performance virtuoso, a serial contest winner, the first person to leak the news of Ableton Live 9, a YouTube legend, or the editor of this website – chances are if you’re familiar with controllerism you’ve probably heard of a guy named Bandesnaci.

For me personally, Bandesnaci and controllerism have become synonymous terms. When I first discovered all of this in late 2011 I obsessively Google’d and YouTube’d every possible combination of the words “controllerism”, “maschine”, “novation”, and “launchpad”. So it wasn’t long before I ran into this site, found Bandesnaci, and became an immediate fan.

In an internet full of videos of people with controllers, his production chops are undoubtedly what has made his video work so popular and made him one of the most prolific controllerists in the world. So, during a conversation a few months ago when he told me that he was working on an album, I may or may not have silently had a fangirl moment. As a matter of fact, I’m having a fangirl moment as I type this to let you know that Bandesnaci’s debut album, “Sleeping Skies, Wandering Planets” will be released Friday October 25, 2013 along with a live performance in Bucharest, Romania that will also be live streaming so you can watch from anywhere!

I’ve been fortunate enough to receive the album already and have listened through it a handful of times. I don’t want to spoil the album for you, so I’ll scrap my original plan of giving you a track by track breakdown and instead encourage you to listen to them yourself and create your own space with them. I will say this – this album is full of powerful tracks and few of them have worked their way into my subconscious. I find myself hearing certain bits in my mind. It’s a wonderfully produced album with a refreshing sound that’s sequenced in a way that makes it easy to listen to and lose yourself in.

The album will be available for purchase as a physical copy at the concert in Bucharest, and as online download via Bandcamp, iTunes, or Patreon as a backer reward.

P.S. – I’ve been listening to the track ‘Sunday Feels Like Monday’ daily for a while now and have come to the conclusion that it’s one of the greatest pieces of music I’ve ever heard.
